Second Brain Notion Template
i created a simple second brain template for the lifelong learners, productivity enthusiasts, and creators of life out there looking for a system that is minimal, but is able to assist you in
- goal setting (plan quarterly goals)
- task management (filter tasks and always see the relevant ones to tackle)
- note taking (track all the resources you are consuming and quotes to remember)
- and pull this all together through an interlinked system, so that whichever area of life you want to focus on, all your thoughts and goals are in the same place
the beauty of this second brain is to store all your information digitally, in a searchable form, in the same place, so that you can access it anywhere, find the information you want to access, and build on ideas and develop your own original thinking.
IN THIS TEMPLATE YOU WILL FIND:
tasks
- add all of your tasks
- assign them a date and a priority
- connect them to a goal
- use the “quick” tab to mark easy tasks that you can check off on the move
- on the home page, you will see a filtered task list showing tasks due this week
goals
- do quarterly planning - write down your goal
- assign it a time period (Q1-4)
- and which area of life it connects to
- plan which strategies you are going to reach the goal (a strategy for losing 10 pounds could be to hit the gym 3x / week)
- break these strategies down to even smaller goals and backtrack your road to success by planning your actions week by week for the entire quarter
- after planning these tasks, add them to your tasks dashboard
areas
- add pages of relevant life areas - anything you consistently need to do (such as eat) or are interested in and may want to take notes on!
- i have added a simple meal planner, where you may add recipes and assign them a weekday and required ingredients. based on this information, you will see your shopping list - mark items stocked if you have them at house and you will see a view of only those ingredients you will need to restock to make the meals you’ve planned for the week.
commonplace book
- track all the resources - such as books, podcasts or articles - you want to consume
- choose the type of medium
- connect it to a life area
- take notes on the resource on the page you added!
- add quotes that you want to remember
- connect these bookmarks and quotes to life areas, so when you later explore the area, you’ll find all these bookmarks and quotes on the page! this is the beauty of an interlinked second brain.
